Do you need to improve performance outcomes – financial and otherwise – on your current project?

It’s realistic to assume that every project, no matter how successful, could always benefit from improvement on cost and non-cost outcomes. Perhaps the question should instead be ‘how can you support this improvement and what do you need to do to drive it?

Riskier and more complex projects face an even larger challenge in demonstrating performance outcomes against KRAs and KPIs; especially if they have been procured under a more relationship based or alliance style contract.

There is no doubt that industry has shifted in the last 6 months, due to a range of mitigating factors, and with new trends arising and recommendations towards more competitive pricing abound – there is no doubt that performance outcomes are under more scrutiny and collaborative contracting is under the microscope.

FACT: The landscape for collaborative procurement has shifted significantly in the wake of the GFC and the recently released Evans and Peck report focused on ‘Additional Value’

FACT: An explosion of collaborative contracts are being procured and you need to move fast if you are to remain up-to-date with these changes

FACT: Cost certainty, dual TOCs and competitive pricing are currently at the heart of many collaborative procurement negotiations and selection processes and you need to understand how best to manage planning and delivery for this rising trend
